Well I am now in a new pad. I got out of my old living quarters and am now in a place of my own. I spent the weekend moving, so not much time for any long bike rides. But I think I am going to go to Hood River this up coming weekend. Anyways here is a vid of my place:
Last night I went with a friend from school and his wife and little daughter to a soccer game. Here is me biking to the Portland Timbers soccer game with a team from Mexico:
And here is PGE Park downtown Portland where the Timbers play(they will be pro in 2011) and the Portland Beavers(Seattles AAA team).
It was pretty exciting, the game is fast paced and there are some skilled athletes. I am getting hooked on soccer and it will be neat to see Cat be the 1st women pro soccer player on a mens team playing someday in PGE field. Right Cat?
Ok so I'm not exactly type happy. The weather is amazing.
Ok. There ya go Mom, you have seen my apartment :) Time to get to work on eating watermelon :) mmmmmm
Make a great day.

mt rainier
You are a mountain. One that I would like to climb. Not to conquer....but to share in the view.
Just after noon I took off on a climb. I started in Elbe, WA. As it so happens for the next 36 miles, I would be met with only two short quarter mile sections of anything less than 1% grade. It took about 17 miles to get to the base of the park, all while traveling along beautiful Alder Lake and country side. The destination: Paradise. Literally. Paradise is located at the top of the 19 mile road which sits at the base of one of the glaciers coming down from Mt Rainier. Ironically they paved Paradise and put up a parking lot....but more on that later. So I started to climb, the grades in the park were closer to 3% getting as steep as 9% in some sections. The ride was amazing. Winding through old growth forests, crossing streams and rivers where the damage of flash flooding was evident, huge gorges, massive mountain tops, and waterfalls. Soon I saw snow everywhere and the gorgeous valley below. It was breathtaking, pictures do not sum up the wonder and awe. It was so nice to see the views and the mountain, but to actually FEEL the mountain was a whole different experience. Soon I reached Paradise: 5,420 feet. A long way from roughly 300ft where I started. I set my bike up. Tried to look past the people and cars and see the site. It was worth it. I met a few people who put faces to the cars that repeatedly passed me as they stopped and then passed me over and over up the mountain, turns out 3 people where from Iowa, born and raised and knew of Luther and Decorah. Heck yeah! Anyways I enjoyed some dates and then put on my arm warmers. Just was I was leaving I saw two other cyclists come up and unpack what looked like winter clothing for the decent. I was hoping to get by with just arm warmers...next time I may take a backpack and a parka haha. The trip down was frigid. 45 minutes of coasting at 30+mph....I peddled as hard as I could just to stay warm. The cold winds bit hard. When I got to the bottom I found a tree to rest my bike up against and started doing push ups and jumping jacks to get some of the blood to the extremities. I then tried to pull together a final ride back to the car fighting the need for some relaxation. On getting back to the car I changed and threw up my hammock to enjoy some strawberries and mangos as the sun set. Oh what a great day.
The west coast has a ton to offer. Next on the list is Mount St Helens, Mt Hood, the Oregon coast, Crater Lake, more waterfalls, the Redwood Forest, and Olympic Park. The summer weekends are going to be filled with adventure.
Anyways pictures below are the climb, the road, viewpoints, and the top...and finally my view from the hammock. On the picture of the mold of the mountain I started in the SW corner and climbed to the bright white lite, which is Paradise. The park is HUGE, as you can see.

i'm not crazy, really
so memorial day weekend, I hope everyone in the whole world gets outside, just for the sake of getting outside....but since I get a 3 day weekend I am going to take a day away from studying and head to Mount Ranier. Pics to follow!!! I will be doing some hiking and cycling. Bring on those hills!!!!
Anyways I came across this news letter and let me tell you THIS IS BIG!!!!! I was going to stay away from ranting about living healthfully but this is just too important. Why? Because it is from JOHNS HOPKINS...that is right, the medical people are actually catching on, or just actually telling the truth. AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY',BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.
Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show
up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When
doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their
bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's
lifetime.
3 When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be
destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional
deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and
lifestyle factors.
5.. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and
including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also
destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal
tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs
etc.
7.. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages
healthy cells, tissues and organs.
8.. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce
tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not
result in more tumor destruction.
9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation
the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can
succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become
resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to
spread to other sites.
11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not
feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
A. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important
food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,
Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural
substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.
Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better
alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and
substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.
C. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic
and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork.
Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites,
which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts
and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About
20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide
live nutrition that is easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels
within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain
live nutrition for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice
(most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3
times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40
degrees C) and then the food is 'dead'.
E. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is
a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink
purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water.. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
F. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive
enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and
leads to more toxic buildup.
G. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or
eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer
cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
H. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac,
anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own
killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are
known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method
of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
I. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit A proactive and
positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger,
un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic
environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and
enjoy life.
J. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising
daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular
level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
Now I don't agree with everything in there but....holy cow what a start. So people....if soda, coffee, animal flesh, milk, chocolate, refined sugar, food additives, not managing your stress, and not exercising is bad for unhealthy people......WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IT IS OK FOR HEALTHY PEOPLE? Fact is, you cannot be healthy practicing these habits. Never do them. Screw moderation when it comes to your health.....YOU ONLY GET ONE BODY. Moderation....piss on it, you want excellence. And for those still hanging onto the 'moderation is ok'....well what about some cocaine in moderation? meth? smoking? how about days without sleep? that's ok riiight....as long as it's in moderation. hogwash.

Imagine you could have any automobile of your choice. That auto would be your only auto and would have to last you for an entire lifetime. If it wore out, it could not be replaced. Once gone, you would be reduced to other methods of getting around, or borrowing rides from other people. One car and only one for your whole life.
Would you take care of your car, or would you abuse it?
Would you change the oil regularly, keep it clean, park it in a garage?
Of course you would take the best care you possibly could of your vehicle. No going out to the drag races on Friday night. Only premium fuel for your motor. Tune-ups, antifreeze, lubrications, maintenance — always you would choose nothing but the best for your automobile.
Would you let your auto sit idly for a year? Never.
Would you push it to the limits to find out how fast it could go, or what the roughest terrain is that it could possibly handle? Absolutely not.
If you were given only one car for a lifetime of use it is clear that you would never abuse it, you would always take the best care of it you possibly could. You would provide all the necessary maintenance and care your car needed and deserved. Right?
What if you had only one body?
Suffering is ignorance. You can live your dream, or you can live your excuse.
Anyways here is a cool sight I found for some killer LOW FAT vegan recipes: http://www.fatfreevegan.com/all.shtml Or you can just eat whole fresh ripe raw produce....but for those who can't check out the websites recipes. They look good :)
Pick 12 recipes, make them a habit and a staple....and watch your health soar.
Don't worry I will knock this wall of text down after my trip to the highest mountain on the west coast. And if you want to see what I am going to bike, check out the videos here http://www.rainiervisitorguide.com/video.html

swine flu
So I was very much going to stay off the topic of health...but the media has gone too far and if I have found one thing to live for it is to stop people from being taken advantage from.
So do you have anything to worry about? Well only if you read the news papers and watch television. Honestly all this fear and hysteria does is make a lot of money for very few people.
I came across a very good article below by a man named Ray Kent.
We Develop Swine Flu When We Eat Like a Pig
I would like to apologize in advance to that warm and intelligent creature
referred to as a "pig". In some cases, we refer to an overweight person as
a "pig" or a person who slobbers over himself as a "pig". When we hear of a
woman who puts out easily, she is a "pig" also. So, the pig is a "pig",
because we take advantage of its ferocious appetite and feed it our awful
food, then it becomes obese, and then we eat it. (Makes us think, doesn't
it?) So, I apologize to these gentle, loving creatures, for using that old
and offensive verbiage. The flu should be rightfully called the "Human's
Flu".
1. The Human's Flu occurs because we eat like that hungry creature we call
a "pig". From the time we awaken until we go to bed at night, we treat our
wonderful body like a garbage can.
2. Because we eat the way we do, we have made McDonalds the richest junk
food purveyor on earth. And not far behind are Colonel Saunders, burger
king, pizza hut and many others, that fill our stomachs and make our body
struggle to survive. The medical industry must be shaken in its foundation,
and the public needs to wake up from this malnutrition-induced coma. This
must be understood, because our way of life is killing us, and here are some
facts that cannot be cast aside.
3. Your body is polluted if your bowel movement stinks. Or, if your breath
could kill a horse, if your teeth are decaying, and your joints are stiff;
if your stools are loose, and your urine is dark and the odor from your body
requires a deodorant; if the female period is heavy and you have discomfort
before it begins; if you have headache and backaches, or if you have
difficulty sleeping; if there is vaginal drainage, or if you are overweight,
then you could be a victim of the human's flu. And all of this happens,
while you are surrounded by doctors and their medicine. And as long as we
are unaware, we will condemn our children to a short life of suffering,
under medical supervision.
4. Now, the body is congested with mostly indigestible material, which is
pushed through the bowel by subsequent eating, as the peristalsis is frozen.
And the rest is backed up, producing concentrated poison. Then, the body has
no alternative but to create diarrhea. This will lower the energy level and
increase its susceptibility. The heart is in a constant struggle, and the
stomach has never stopped reacting, but we didn't listen, and as a result it
burnt out and went silent like a spent volcano.
The blood becomes thicker and soon it will offend rather than nourish. Soon,
there won't be enough energy to look out through our windows without
glasses, because so much blood and energy is used in the digestive system
that our hands and feet become cold. We look older and our hair falls out.
And all of a sudden, we have a fever, we cough and we're tired and stiff,
and forced to lie down because of low energy.
5. In the middle of our misery, a doctor comes on the radio and talks about
the flu, and you have the symptoms, and when you hear that many have the
same symptoms --- your neighbor, your friends, and some of your family, it
is easy to believe you've 'caught' the flu, because after all, the doctor
has just announced the epidemic. And as you realize more and more people
have this flu, it reinforces the medical perspective. You wash your hands
and practice good hygiene, and continue to make McDonalds a phenomenon in
marketing, and because the authority who referees this, are doctors,
scientists and graduates of the most prestigious universities on earth, we
don't dare refute them. Remember the World Health Organization (WHO)? They
are a powerful and dangerous group. They have power over government as they
proved during the SARS fiasco that they could destroy airlines and
countries. So, what a predicament we're in! The medical authority does not
see the correlation between what we eat and what we have become, because
they see the symptom as the "disease". It is unbelievable that these
eggheads don't get it!
6. But I am refuting them, because they are absolutely wrong. A number of
people all over the earth who have this condition, are just as polluted as
each other. Some are genetically weaker, and because of medical suppression,
will die from that condition. Microbes do not cause disease, and that makes
the word "epidemic" the result of a bad thesis. And if their thesis is
wrong, what is the truth?
7. We must finally see that all the purveyors of junk food are successful
all over the earth. They are absolutely an enemy of every good wish we
have. They peddle the worst food that we can put inside the body. One only
needs to study the average restaurant's menu, and you'd see "Stomach Ulcer -
$6.50", "Future Heart Attack - $8.95", "Constipation - $7.25" and I almost
forgot, plus tips. So, rather than having the highest principles of life in
common, we have only our diseases in common - our weak hearts, our cancers,
and our iffy mentality. And if we could open the refrigerators of the
afflicted, we could see we have something else in common --- WE EAT POORLY.
And At The SAME TIME, EVERYWHERE, the body just can't take it anymore and
goes into A Major Elimination, which unfortunately, is seen as a disease.
8. So, the bottom line is, we get "Swine flu" because we eat like a pig.
This is not an epidemic, and is not caused by a microbe. It is caused by our
condition and our level of susceptibility. It is our ignorance and the way
we treat this highly evolved organism. This is the cause. Our ability to
prevent should get the Nobel Prize, not the guesswork of treatments that
will ultimately fail.
9. This is how to prevent this stupidity that ruins our lives:
a) Disregard the WHO and other disgraceful "authorities" that are absolutely
wrong.
b) Don't vaccinate, allow the sickness to occur, because you caused it and
you can't heal without it.
c) Stop eating poor food, especially meat, diary, fried food and vitamins.
d) Educate yourself, read Herbert Shelton and J. Tilden.
e) Become recession proof.
10. So, the biggest defense against "Swine Flu" and all other diseases is
to keep the body clean and eat well. This is the time to spend a couple of
days drinking juices, fresh from the juicer, and celebrate your freedom.
Also, consider a water fast under guidance.
11. We are finally confronting the cause of our failures and it will take
great bravery to make the changes that will give us a life of happiness. We
must take full responsibility for causing this ignorance. Yes, we were
convinced by experts, but we became a victim! So much for experts.
P.S. The cause of all disease, from the hyperactivity of a child to
Alzheimer's, from skin
eruptions to AIDS, all is caused by a combination of the following:
1. The way we eat and how we live our lives
and, to a lesser extent,
2. Our individual genetic history
Also check out positivelyfalse.com for some more in depth info and fearoftheinvisible.com(the Key Concepts section is a must and the book is great). Finally lets take a look at Mexico City really quick: Population of around 20 million...
a few dozen cases out of 20 million manifest themselves in this environment:

But no....a virus did this. . . all other factors should be ignored. Laughable. But good for politics, I mean how well respected would governments be if THEY were the cause of putting up with people living in such conditions and in support of the huge industries poisoning our food, air, and water.
make a good day

pushed through the bowel by subsequent eating, as the peristalsis is frozen.

Laughable. But good for politics, I mean how well respected would governments be if THEY were the cause of putting up with people living in such conditions and in support of the huge industries poisoning our food, air, and water.

a break in the ranting
back to some stuff going on in my life. i will step down from the soap box(for awhile, haha) the sun has come out recently as well and this time of year is just fantastic. i think i am in love with portland. everything is in bloom and i hardly feel like i am in a city. pretty good for a small town boy.

but let me back track and make up for some lost time and the major gap from my last post. betsy came down to visit for a week during finals where we went to the zoo, the oregon museum of science and industry, some falls, and the coast. it was a great time, the falls especially, oregon has a wealth of forests, luckily preserved.

over break i went down to salt lake city to visit my good friends trevor and josh. we enjoyed some of the best snow in the world and some great slopes. i also did not break any bones, which is surprising considering i was not playing the odds as many times as i fell down.
i took a few days off from skiing and headed to moab and the canyon lands. some backpacking and hiking fancied my time and i survived some cold nights(it is not supposed to snow in the desert is it? well it did). the desert is a peculiar place. i feel such a bond to trees and being absent from them left me in a place of mystery, vastness, and solitude. but it was a very cool experience. wish i would have brought my bike to moab.

but onto more current times: biking portland. since i have decided to get a little more serious about training i have been commuting everywhere. the first week i had 130 miles commuting, to school it is a 10 mile trip but i tend to take different routes every time to really see the city. this week i just knocked out 160 miles, exclusively to get around. add on about 40 - 100 extra miles each week for my training and workout specific rides and i am getting back into shape pretty quick, visible by the large callouses on my ass. but really, portland is amazing for biking and beauty....trevor has recently come up to visit to check it out and i had to give him the real deal tour. everything by bike. the past two days we have spent over 8 hours on the saddle seeing everything. careering through streets on a bicycle this time of year is an adventure. showers, sunbursts, cafes and a robust bicycle culture is everything good riding and sight seeing is about. and there are SO many commuters. watching other bicyclists wearing blinking safety lights parade across one of the bridges flashed like a line of flickering fireflies. often times bikes outnumber cars at stops. and we always get the right of way.
on top of the easy cycling commuting, trains and buses are everywhere with racks where you can throw your bike on and read a book on the way to your destination. on a clear day fresh snow on the peaks of mount hood and st helens make the view of the city hardly seem urban. did i mention the trees? every street is lined with them in bloom, seemingly outnumbering people.
anyways. i am living in the northeast section of town. very close to portland univerity, a food co-op, several little main streets with quaint shops, and tons of parks. i also happen to be right across the street from a community center that has two wrestling mats in it as well. a gold medal wrestling coach, roy pittman, puts on club every night of the week as well, and in the past 3 years he has had 5 national champions at fargo. he knows his stuff and it is one of the best clubs i have seen. it is also just neat that there is an open mat for the community, something not even found in iowa, and his dedication to the kids and the sport is very special.
so school.....did i mention i am biking everywhere :) well i am running some too. turns out it is a mecca for that as well. one of my classmates is a sub 2:30 marathoner so he hits me up with all the hot spots. forest park has been a favorite, it is the largest city park in the world, and you can literally get lost in there for hours. over 30 miles of trails, elevation changes everywhere, endless trees, and running streams makes it one of my favorite places in 'the city'.
on saturday mornings portland state hosts a very large farmers market with local fresh goodness. over 75 booths and live music while people caousell around each other at the packed event. so many sweet aromas and people watching make the morning worth waking up for. i also cannot wait until melon and berry season comes, which is supposed to be a highlight of oregon. it is going to be heavenly....i mean you do not even have to be a fruitarian to appreaciate good sweet fruit- and honestly even if i was still eating the cultural fair i think i would have to respect the seaon and eat nothing but berries for atleast a week. and when melon season comes it is also going to be mono eating on them as well...oh nectar of the gods(if you cant tell i am excited). i will also be encouraging everyone around me to partake on atleast a week of nothing but melons, mmmm healthy and oh so good.
gosh what else. come on out and see it! oh yes, the mountain biking. amazing, need i say more? if i did not have a completely rigid bike i would be hitting up the gondelas and doing some sick downhill as there is tons of that around here. honestly at times i also wish i had gears....mountain ranges contain....well mountains and you find a love for climbing really fast.....or you don't ride, haha. slicing through the trees on cool mornings is some of the best meditation for the mind and the views from the top are breathtaking.
add in live music at at least 20 places in town everynight and portland is a pretty cool city, very much livable for me at the moment.
more updates to come as the temperature continues to rise.

"Do not attempt to justify your vegan lifestyle by claiming we as humans are not omnivores, that is simply ridiculous." Sorry all I heard was your idea doesn't fit in with my identity, practices, culture, and world-view - you must be wrong.
I'm seeking, practicing, and sharing truth. If I really found that there was something better than eating predominantly fruit, with some nuts/seeds and greens for my health, I would adopt it immediately.
The scientific community is continuing to find that humans are naturally: frugivores . There is very little evidence that indicates gains are a healthy food integral to our evolution. Very little evidence meat was eaten prior to our migration out of Africa due to climate change. And even less to no evidence on cooking being at all healthful or an old practice. For 99.9% of humans time on earth we have been evolving on primarily fruits and some other vegetables and greens. In fact there is evidence that the “necessity” of eating greens/vegetables is met by completely by fruits. With time spent in studying nutrition, one would find that the most adequate diet for humans is fruit (however I would doubt this is possible for most people in the world today as the food quality is not as great as it was in the past). Also if you were to study mythology(which is very much actions of that time) heavily, you would find that fruit is prevalent and that humans at that time consisted of primarily if not exclusively fruit.
There still is also the fact that what is good for you when you are healthy, is good for you when you are sick. What is bad for you when you are sick, is bad for you when you are healthy. Again, the conditions required to maintain health, are exactly the same as those required to maintain health when you are ill.
So if meat is bad for ones health, and we derive no nutritional advantage from it over fruit....please tell me how somehow we are evolved to eat it? WE HAVEN'T. Can we handle it...well of course(but safely in small amounts), and I am glad we could or I may not be here. Can a carnivore eat plants? Yes. Can herbivores eat meat? Yes. Do they run into problems when they do not eat primarily of their dietary nature? YEEEESSSSS. Do we....YEEEESSSSS. This would be what is called breaking a natural/biological law.
Scientific literature shows time and time again, fruits and vegetable intake reduces symptoms and manifestations of disease. Meat does neither. Simply put, one brings people to health, one doesn't.
You are also lucky I guess, that you posted anonymously, as I would personally challenge you as well to eat roadkill and relish in it like you do an juicy fruit. Since we cannot catch animals(we can kill some of the small ones with out bare hands no doubt, but can you REALLY catch a rabbit under your own powers?), pretty much the only way we could naturally 'catch' them is when they stopped moving. ie...they are dead sir. Also the meat would be consumed raw(remember...natural sir) and there are numerous known problems with raw meat.
Check out Bear Grylls RELISH IN HIS meal.
I guess that gag reflex is normal to our evolution huh....
Anatomical, physiological, and psychological traits of humans can be used to show humans are frugivores. Other sciences can be used to explain how it all works. It's only more evidence to fit in the logical analysis after initial observations have been made that show humans to be a frugivore.
I am also kind of pissed that I am just thrown into the vegan camp, and am supposed to take some vegetarian MD's opinion. 99% of vegans and vegetarians are some of the most unhealthy 'healthy' people out there.
I'm not into beliefs. I don't support religion, medicine, fruitarianism, veganism, vegetarianism, democracy, communism, spirituality, nor any of the other uncountable faddish belief systems of civilization. I know how these systems work and that without belief, they'd never naturally exist. What naturally exists requires no belief for its existence.
All things that exist are expressions of that which expresses the thing. I.e., they are self-evident. Love is an expression, and doesn't require belief. Love requires expression to exist. A rock expresses itself by the parts of itself that make it up, which in themselves are expression of other expression before them. A rock is dependent on that which expresses it, just as love is dependent on that which expresses love.
My approach to the frugivorous nature of humans is the same approach I take for gravity's existence. I don't believe in gravity. I just observe how things fall all the time when they lose their support. How it actually works requires a lot of explaining, but the explaining doesn't make gravity work, no matter how much a person likes/dislikes the explanation. Gravity is self-evident. I can only
try to explain how it works (and take advantage of how it works), after obvious evidence shows it exists.
As an example, to say that my approach to showing gravity exists only makes sense if I believe in gravity, is to say that gravity is dependent on belief for its existence. Belief is a human brain invention. Does that mean that there is no gravity for other animals and life forms? Does that mean there is no gravity on the moon? By that logic, the entire universe's existence depends on whether humans
believe in it or not.
So all I have to do is believe/not believe in something and it exists/doesn't exist. I'll be right back, I have to go to Australia quickly.
Okay, I'm back. MMM, tasty fruit.
My point above is that what exists is self evident and needs only to be pointed out using the evidence that is clearly there, and how/why it works are just explanatory details which are not needed for the things existence.
As an opposite example, let's pretend Santa exists. I accept he is
true, and so I leave milk and cookies out for him. I explain to people how Santa exists. Somebody tells me my approach (how I reveal Santa exists) only makes sense if I believe in Santa. They're right, in this case, because Santa doesn't exist and requires belief, but how do they know Santa doesn't exist? The answer is that it's up to the claimant to prove their claims, using evidence.
I say humans are frugivores, just as I say gravity exists. Gravity is that force which cause two opposing bodies to attract each other and fall towards each other, an observation and definition. Gravity is self-evident. I drop a ball, and I thereby prove its existence. There are many other ways to make gravity evident (revealed).
The laws of gravity are just explanations of how gravity works, and come after the fact. They don't make gravity or prove gravity. Gravity already proves itself by its self-evident nature.
By observation and definition, a frugivore is that natural behaving animal that is best designed to and that eats a diet predominating in fruit with lower amounts of other foods that include plant, animal, and insect matter.
A bit of study reveals that humans have all the tools that are ideal for fruit eating. Their anatomy, physiology, and psychology best suits fruit eating. The same study reveals that humans are less well suited to digest plant life, even less suited to digest grains, insects, and even less suited to digest other animals.
Study reveals that some animals (that have long sharp teeth, claws, short, strong digestion, etc) are very well suited for raw flesh and animal-part eating, and do a lot of it, and love it, gore and all. They also eat small amounts of other foods, like plants, insects, and humans ;), etc.
More study reveals that some other animals are suited to eat a whole lot of grasses and plant parts, with small amounts of other foods, including insects and grains, but rarely animal flesh, if at all. These animals have anatomies suited for vegetation digestion. They often have hooves and horns, they secrete strong digestive juices for cellulose digestion and have hardware/software for breaking down
plant matter easily.
Using the above observations and making simple definitions, I state that a frugivore eats mostly fruit. A carnivore eats mostly flesh. A herbivore eats mostly plant life. They all eat variable amounts of the other foods, to much lesser degree than their main foods, but what defines them is what they digest best.
And some more monotonous reading can be found below in the previous posts comments section, that will probably never sink in, because why would we go against our culture and identity...
